Come what may and love it.
Jan. 16th 2012

Good morning everyone!
I seriously have nothing to write this week. Sister Mendez was sick ALL week.

I have never been so bored...ever. I studied, cleaned the entire house, organized the scary junk closet, studied, read and studied some more. One talk that has really stood out to me in the past 9 days of sitting at home was, "Come what may and love it" by Elder Worthlin. Amazing talk! I may have loved it even more because it completely applies to everything this week. It wasn't a bad week but it wasn't a super awesome miracle week either. It’s hard to see miracles when you are stuck in a 4-wall apartment while your companion sleeps all day. As I read Elder Worthlins talk he helped me see the happiness regardless of the situation.

"The next time you’re tempted to groan, you might try to laugh instead. It will extend your life and make the lives of all those around you more enjoyable."

I was more than tempted to groan this week. But instead I've taken his advice and laughed. I've laughed at the fact that I've looked through almost every Ensign magazine the apartment holds. I've laughed at the fact that I haven't been caught up on my journal my entire mission and now its caught up to the point of annoying (pasted with notes, pictures and inserts.) I've laughed at the fact that I found taking out the garbage exciting just because it got me outside for a whole 5 seconds. I've laughed because someday I'm going to look back on this week and wish with all my heart that I could go back to that moment. I'm laughing at what has come and loving it.

I have come to realize how important the gospel of Jesus Christ is in every aspect of our lives. It doesn't matter what you are doing or where you are. The gospel of Jesus Christ covers everything and everyone. I know that Heavenly Father was so aware of me sitting in our little apartment all day just as he would have been if we were teaching people all day.

I am always and will forever be grateful to be apart of this gospel and be a missionary of Jesus Christ.

I love each of you. Be safe. Take what comes and love it.
I'm excited to get to work this week!!!
