Week 4? I can't remember (March 7, 2011)

Hi everyone!

Thank you for the letters I received this week- Jules I'm sorry Abby didn't love the Disney characters. They still kind of scare me and I'm how old now? I can understand where she is coming from. I hear the Jazz are even worse than before. I had no idea that was possible!  Jason Steinmann- Thank you for the nicest little blog paragraph ever. You are fabulous. Also Megan Wiseman, YOU ARE ENGAGED! I love you! Congratulations.

Its been a crazy up and down week here in Junction City Kansas. Here are a few of the highlights:

1. Remember our miracle investigator Chris? On Tuesday we taught him about the word of wisdom. He completely accepted it! He knew that he needed to quit smoking and drinking coffee. So before we left we asked him if we could take his cigarettes, and sure enough he gave them to us! It was so great. Plus, I got to carry cigs around in my bag for the rest of the day. Awesome. We also set a baptism date for the 26th :)

After our Tuesday appointment with him we hadn't been able to get a hold of him till yesterday! Let's just say it was a rough week for Sister Nuckles and I (its amazing how much you start to care for your investigators). We felt like we were in an argument with a boyfriend, we kept checking our phone every five minutes to see if he had called. Haha. We finally saw him Sunday night and everything is straightened out. Satan has hit Chris with what he called a "sin salad", but Chris continues to hold strong onto what he knows is right. We are so proud of him. His smoking is still going to be a daily battle but he's working on it and doing the best he can. Your prayers for him would be much appreciated.

2. We have 5 baptisms this month! 2 of them are this week. Josie is on Wednesday and the King Family is on Saturday! We are so excited! However I have to give a talk for both of them. I guess that's what happens when you become a missionary :)

3. Starting Saturday 3 girls from Manhattan Kansas are coming to serve a 72 hour mini mission. This means I have to train one of them! Yikes. Should be an adventure!

Anyway, this week has been a challenge and a blessing. We are grateful for our area and the people we are able to meet. It's not about how many appointments you can get, it's who needs the gospel. Everything else comes in time and falls into place.

Who would have guessed how much I love Kansas and smelling like a smoker everyday? :)

Thank you for all your support and prayers. I could not do this without you.

Be safe. I love you.

P.S. We have to teach the Underwood family the Word of Wisdom this coming week. They don't know what it is yet. Pray for us!

  1. Thanks for posting this!! That is a great idea! I love reading it and Kenz sounds great! I am stoked for her. What a cool experience, she will be (and already is) a powerful missionary. :D
