Hi everyone! Thank you for all the support through prayers and letters this week!
Guess what? I made it a month 1/2 before I had to go tracking. Yup I went tracking. With our teaching pool turning into a puddle this past week, Sister Nuckles and I both had the prompting to go. It was awful and terrifying but I'm still alive! After many slammed doors and super rude people one girl actually let us in! I was so in shock that I didn't say much while we were visiting with her. All I could think about is that we were actually in her house. She is 18 and attending Kansas State and has a baby. We don't know what her name is because it's really different and we can't pronounce it. So we just call her sister Logan. We are hoping to meet with her again this week. Oh, and at one house it was my turn to talk; when the man opened the door he was holding his 2 dogs and suddenly one of them pooped! ha ha... It was the perfect moment. We now say that I scared the crap out of that dog..
Chris has fallen off the face of the earth. He moved out of his house because his x-wife was coming home from deployment. His phone has either fallen into a river or he's ignoring our phone calls. Regardless, we are both super bummed. We still pray for him everyday and hope that he will call. :(
Little Racheal Underwood is still doing great and will be baptized this Sunday! She is super excited. Her mother Lori found out she has some sort of disease related to smoking so she now has to quit :) James (her husband) is going to quit with her so that they can make it to the temple. They have already started working on quiting and bought the fake water vapor ciggs (like in the movie The Tourist). Anyway they are a great family. They have many struggles but they are trying. It's worth smelling like a cigarette every time we go over.
The baptisms that we had this week went super well! Josie was baptized on Wednesday night after her husband got home from deployment that morning. She had been waiting for so long. But Wednesday finally came and her father-in-law baptized her. The King family was baptized this past Saturday by our ward mission leader Brother Wheatley. (I don't know if I have mentioned him yet but he seriously is the greatest person ever; I have never seen anyone so dedicated to their calling.) The Kings service went beautifully (minus the fact that I almost barfed 3 times that day) and it got even better when Brother Wheatley's little girl Jaclyn congratulated the Kings and yelled over the glass to her dad saying, "Dad you did a really great job. You are so good at that!" All three Kings were confirmed yesterday in Sacrament meeting and are now official members of the Church. Oh, and Nathan King has already had his interview to receive the Aaronic priesthood! Goodness I love them.
Little miss Lanie King is as adorable as always. If we walk somewhere she automatically grabs my pinkie to hold my hand and if she needs me she calls me either Sista or Sista Haa. It's so against the rules for her to sit on my lap but she does it anyway and I just don't have the heart to tell her to get off. I love her. I'm going to hate saying goodbye to the King family whenever that time comes.
I added a bunch of pictures from the MTC and here. It wouldn't let me put it in as part of the email so they are all attachments. I don't know which ones uploaded. Hopefully you can figure out who is who. Rachael Underwood looks like she is 5 and has glasses. Sister Nuckles has short hair and is so much smaller than me that it looks like I could eat her. Sister Kennach is Samoan. Lanie is the adorable little blonde girl. There is a picture of Kelly Christopher (Daynna's sister) and I. The Elders from the MTC. A hay bail etc etc.
Unfortunately the photos Makenzie tried to send did not come through, in fact the entire email was lost somewhere in cyber space and this is why I didn't post last week. I had her re-send the text of her last letter so now there are two of them to read!
I love you all. Thank you for everything. If I haven't written you a letter yet I promise its coming. Thank you for the support.
Love, Me.
Oh PS. I have to learn Spanish! It's basically not an option anymore according to the Branch President of the Spanish branch. It's going to be a challenge.
Oh, and mom send the package as soon as you can. Transfers are coming up at the end of the month! I don't need nylons. I bought some at the store. I hope that's all you needed to know.
